Getting started

Tap the new-list action on the home screen.
Paste this week's characters, for example 山水日月火木, and save the list.
Open a character card and start practice. Watch the stroke order first, then trace.
Return to the home screen to see which characters are practiced.

Simplified or traditional characters

ZiStep practices exactly the characters you paste. It does not convert between simplified and traditional. Paste the form your class uses.

Pinyin and zhuyin

Open Settings to switch between pinyin, zhuyin (ㄅㄆㄇ), or no pronunciation display. Interface language and pronunciation display are independent settings, so English interface with zhuyin is a valid combination.

Printing a worksheet

Open a list and choose the print action. iOS presents the standard print sheet, so you can print directly or save the worksheet as a PDF to share.

Purchases and restoring

ZiStep offers an annual subscription and a one-time lifetime unlock. If you reinstall the app or use a new device, open the purchase screen and tap Restore purchase while signed in with the same Apple Account.

Managing or cancelling a subscription

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. On your device open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, select ZiStep, and change or cancel it there. For refunds, use reportaproblem.apple.com.

Does ZiStep need an internet connection?

No. After installation the app works offline. A connection is only used for Apple system services such as purchases.

Where is my data stored?

Character lists and practice progress are stored locally on your device. There is no account and no server of ours. See the privacy policy for details.

快速上手

在首页点新建字表。
把这周的生字粘贴进来，例如山水日月火木，保存。
打开字卡开始练习。先看完笔顺演示，再开始描红。
回到首页可以看到哪些字已经练过。

简体还是繁体

粘贴什么字就练什么字，应用不会在简繁之间自动转换。请按你孩子课堂使用的字形粘贴。

拼音和注音

在设置里可以切换拼音、注音符号（ㄅㄆㄇ）或不显示读音。界面语言和注音方式是两个独立设置，界面用英文、读音显示注音符号是合法组合。

打印练习纸

打开字表后选择打印。iOS 会弹出系统打印面板，可以直接打印，也可以存成 PDF 再分享。

购买与恢复购买

字步提供年度订阅和一次性永久解锁两种方式。重装应用或换新设备后，用同一个 Apple 账户登录，在购买页点恢复购买即可。

管理或取消订阅

订阅由 Apple 管理，不由我们管理。在设备上打开设置 →[你的名字]→ 订阅，选择字步即可修改或取消。需要退款请前往 reportaproblem.apple.com。

需要联网吗

不需要。安装后可以完全离线使用，只有购买等 Apple 系统服务会用到网络。
